Faye (Clifton) Powell

Mrs. Faye Clifton Powell, 84, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows in Vidalia surrounded by her loving family.

Faye was born December 7, 1938, in Twin City to the late Alvin Clifton and Ella Lanier Clifton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jack Powell.  Faye grew up with her siblings on the family farm and was a graduate of Emanuel County Institute.  She worked in the cafeteria of Swainsboro Elementary School where she retired after 30 years.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Strohmetz (Dietmar) of Savannah, Jacquelyn Davis (David) of Dublin; grandchildren, Daniel Strohmetz, Rebecca Strohmetz Glenn (Patrick), Erica Davis, Lauren Davis; sisters, Mary McBride (Gene) of Twin City, Dot Faircloth of Statesboro; brother, Ronnie Clifton of Chicago, IL; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum with Mr. Kirk Cavanah officiating.

Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
