Mr. George Anthony, 85, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Anthony was born May 5, 1934 in Swainsboro, GA. to the late Tony Anthony and Hattie Randall Anthony. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tony Anthony and Rudolph Anthony, Sr. Mr. Anthony enjoyed spending time on his porch with his fur companions and playing the lottery. He worked at Emanuel County Board of Education and Fordville for a number of years. Mr. Anthony was a surviving cancer patient. He had a caring heart and was Uncle George to everyone he knew. Mr. Anthony was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Survivors include nephews, Charles Dawson (Deborah) and Hermon T. Anthony, both of Jacksonville, FL, Rudolph Anthony, Jr. (LaKeisha), Jimmy Anthony, and Frank Shedrick, all of Swainsboro; niece, Mary Lee Anthony of Swainsboro; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Swainsboro City Cemetey.
Pallbearers are deacons of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
