Mrs. Georgia Mae Braddy Sherrod, 73, of Twin City died early Thursday morning, May 22, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Sherrod was born February 23, 1941 in Swainsboro to the late Frank M. Braddy and Lila Mae Norman Braddy. Mrs. Sherrod was a life long resident of Emanuel County. She worked with Keller Industries until 1981. Mrs. Sherrod enjoyed crossword puzzles, feeding her humming birds and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bobby Sherrod of Twin City; sons, Bobby Frank Sherrod of Twin City and Harvey L. Sherrod of Eastman; daughters, Seressa (Eddie) Waters of Twin City and Ladona Lara of Metter; grandchildren, Eugenia (Javier) Gallegos of Warhaw NC, Christy (Don) Driggers of Metter, Ricky Blackburn (Dallas Adams) of Savannah, Joseph Sherrod of Twin City and Stacy (Floriberto) Flores of Twin City; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2014 with Elder Tommy Rountree, Reverend Dewitt Corbin and Reverend Bruce Flowers officiating. Interment will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening, May 23, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Cooper Henry, John Samples, Jessie Brown, Wendell Powell, Dale Brown and Lee Webb.
