Gratice Fortner

Ms. Gratice Fortner, 85, of Kite passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. 

Ms. Fortner was born June 8, 1935 in Kite, GA. to the late Leonard and Oris Tapley Price.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Jo Wheeler; brothers, Monroe Price, Hubert Price, and Herman Price.  Ms. Fortner enjoyed fishing, planting flowers, crocheting and cooking, She also enjoyed walking, looking at nature, and playing Farkle. 

Survivors include her sons, Lynward (Theresa) Fortner of Milledgeville and Guy Fortner of Kite; sister, Joyce Moore of Kite; grandchildren, Kelly (Robin) Fortner of Swainsboro, Casey (Tiffany) Fortner of Lawrenceville, Amber Fortner of Milledgeville, Mechele Fortner of Austin, TX; great grandchildren, Aubrey Fortner, Piper Fortner, Brodie and Jade; caregiver, Tabitha Nations; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside Service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Burton Dixon officiating.

Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gumlog Perpetual Care Fund C/O Faye Brantley 2393 Midas Brantley Road Kite, GA 31049.

In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
