Mr. Harold G. Jackson, 77, of Midville passed away Thursday afternoon, June 11, 2015 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken following an extended illness.
Mr. Jackson was born August 7, 1937 in Augusta to the late Alvin B. Jackson and Inez Baldwin Jackson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gayle Jackson-Anderson; brother, Richard Jackson. Mr. Jackson retired with Sunbeam Bread Company eight years ago and moved back to Emanuel County about five years ago. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved watching the Atlanta Braves and was a member of Hines Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Jackson of Midville; daughters, Debra (Margarito) Cruz-Rodriguez of Grovetown, Darlene Heath of Aiken SC, Cheryl (Charlie) Finch of Thompson, Anita (Chester) Plecha of Evans, Libby Mathis of Milledgeville, Patricia (Cal) Marsh of Macon and Betty Jo (Larry) Hall of Midville; brother, Larry Jackson of Christmas FL; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at the Hines Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 with Reverends Randy Walden and Cal Marsh officiating. Mr. Jackson will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening, June 13, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Johnny Simmons, Kane Brice, Larry Hall, Margarito Cruz, Jeffery Heath and Tyson Sherrod
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Wilcher and Paul Moore.
