Ms. Hazel Armstrong Douglas, 79, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at Oxley Park Health & Rehabilitation following an extended illness.
Ms. Douglas was born May 30, 1941 in Swainsboro to the late Curtis “Mr. Curt” J. Armstrong and Gladys Giles Armstrong. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis “Cobb” K. Armstrong. Ms. Douglas worked at Creston/Argo Mills and retired from Wal-Mart. She enjoyed fishing and watching Hallmark movies.
Survivors include her daughters, Julie (Jeff) Raines of Statesboro, Sherry (Steve) Claxton of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Wesley (Amy) Way, Jeremy (Erin) Way, Dustin (Delane) Way, Steve (Hannah) Claxton, Jr., Casey Claxton, Ashley Raines (Brian Darby), Brittany (Kevin) Douglas; sister, JoAnn H. Cannon of Swainsboro; sister-in-law, Marilyn Armstrong of Swainsboro; 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorial Service will be Monday, July 27, 2020 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Emory Fennell and Reverend Jack Whitehead officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 27, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Summer Willow.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
