Ms. Helen Brett Schmid, 84, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Ms. Schmid was born May 3, 1936 in Midville-Burke County to the late Lintorn A. Brett and Gertrude Flanders Brett. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Schmid; daughter, Esther Bristow; brother, Lintorn Brett; sister, Ann Brett. Ms. Schmid loved her grandchildren, reading Christian especially in her Bible, and loved to share her Faith. She was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church. Ms. Schmid graduated from Georgia Baptist Nursing Program and later on got her Masters Degree in Adult Education. She then went and taught Nursing at Southeastern Technical College and worked at Emanuel Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Andrew Scott Schmid, Stuart Watson (Lorraine); grandchildren, Erin Watson, Glynis Watson, Colleen Watson, Jack Watson, Nicholas Dominguez, Clay Williams, Bailey Bristow, Sam Schmid, Eli Schmid; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Henry Brett (Janet), Bobby Brett (Betty Ann), William Brett (Sandy); sister, Mary Gayle Farrar; sister-in-law, Willoise Brett.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Tillman & Rev. Cail Pressey officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home.
The family will also receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Mr. William & Mrs. Sandy Brett’s residence, 1053 Cow Ford Bridge Rd., Kite, GA.
