Mrs. Iris Christine Roberson, 77, of Louisville formerly of Swainsboro passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Old Capital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Roberson was born November 21, 1937 in Swainsboro to the late Luke Peebles and Rosie Moore Peebles. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Roberson; son, James “Man” Roberson; daughters, Kathy Roberson and Joanne Smith; brothers, Talmadge Peebles, George L. Peebles, L. F. Peebles, and Rudolph Peebles. Mrs. Roberson was a lifelong resident of Swainsboro until she became sick. She loved gardening and being a caretaker for her family. Mrs. Roberson was a member of Blundale Baptist church.
Survivors include her daughters, Dianne (Bobby) Sheppard of Davisboro and Carol Sue Roberson of Atlanta; sister, Onita Scarboro of Swaisnboro; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday morning, October 30, 2015 with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.
Interment will be in the Bithynia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Roy Joe Peebles, Hunter Mills, Johnny Peebles, Irvin Cox, Robert Marsh, and Shane Johnson.
