Mr. J. W. “Nookie” Youmans, 91, of Stillmore passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Youmans was born March 31, 1930, in Emanuel County to Charlie Youmans and Madie Lumley Youmans. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inez Hadden Youmans; son, Roy Lee Youmans; daughters, Margaret Jones, Madie Youmans; brother, Charles Youmans; sisters, Cynthia Boatright, Mary Lou Moore, Susie Mae Daniels, Freeda Beckham, Louise James, Ilene Nelson, Henriette Wilson; grandson, Roy Lee Jones; great-grandson, Willie Jones. Mr. Youmans was a lifetime farmer and bus driver for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his sons, James W. Youmans, Jr. (Susan) of Stillmore, Randy Youmans (Karen) of Swainsboro, Kenneth Youmans (Sara) of Metter; daughters, Linda Kingery (Lester) and Nancy Slater (Donnie), both of Stillmore; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Beckham and Mr. Chad Kingery officiating.
Interment will follow at Youmans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jimbo Akridge, Kade Youmans, Chad Kingery, Dustin Lewis, Harris Youmans, and Kyle Jones.
