Mr. James Edward Kersey, 70, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Kersey was born September 9, 1953, to Mr. Jack Kersey and Mrs. Colleen Riner Kersey. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Atkinson; brother, Terry Kersey. Mr. Kersey was an avid Nascar racing fan. He loved to ride his four-wheeler. Mr. Kersey was in the United States Army for four years. He was of the Baptist Faith. He spent most of his life in Wrightsville and Kite, with his later years being spent in Swainsboro. Mr. Kersey was a member of the Wrightsville Fire Department for many years.
Survivors include his son, Jason Kersey (Tamara) of Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren, Haylee Kersey, Emilee Kersey, and Holden Kersey; niece, Brandi Akridge (Ed); nephews, Ronald Walker, Jamey Walker, and T.J. Kersey; several great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Graveside Service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024, at Kersey Claxton Cemetery with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating.
Pallbearers will be Dexter Akridge, Daren Akridge, Ed Akridge, Ronald Walker, and Jamey Walker.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Kersey Claxton Cemetery.
