Mr. Jerrell Larry Cannady, 78, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at AU Medical Center in Augusta following an extended illness.
Mr. Cannady was born November 23, 1943, in Twin City, GA to the late Wallace Cannady and Veleta Durden Cannady. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Cannady, Charles Canady, Bob Cannady, Ronald Cannady. Mr. Cannady worked for 44 years at Atlanta Gas and Light Co. Jerrell loved his family fiercely and was a faithful friend to those who were blessed to know him. He never failed to take every opportunity to teach by example what it meant to serve one another. He didn’t have a college degree, but his handy man know-how has helped so many and he never turned away someone in need. He loved building birdhouses and furniture in his workshop, enjoyed working in his garden and fishing down at the creek was a favorite past time. His laughter was contagious, and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He was a member of United Primitive Baptist Church for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Brenda Cannady of Swainsboro; daughters, Rhonda (Todd) Davis of Evans, Melisa (Brian) Hendrix of Nevils; grandchildren, Ansleigh Davis, Bentley Hendrix, Jake Davis, Alivia Hendrix; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at United Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Paul Thomas and Mr. Rob Gray officiating.
Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dale Cannady, Paul Cannady, Gene Cannady, Craig Cannady, Ron Cannady, Jake Davis, Mac Cannady, and Larry Morrison.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
