Jimmy Copeland Sr.

Mr. Jimmy Copeland Sr., 72, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia Ga following a brief illness.     

Mr. Copeland was born October 23, 1948 in Wrightsville to the late Isma Copeland and Velma Kight Copeland.   He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Copeland, Earnest Copeland, Frank Copeland; sisters, Essie Mae Connell.  Mr. Copeland was an overall hard-working man.  He loved his family and enjoyed collecting and reselling scrap items. 

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Copeland; sons, Jimmy Copeland Jr. of Twin City, Michael Copeland (Marie) of Apopka, Fl., Michael Preston Copeland of Swainsboro, Michael Wilkerson of Kite, Larry Wilkerson of Clayton; daughters, Sherry Copeland of Swainsboro, Kristy Oglesby of Collins, Kathy Padgett (Joseph Fullmore) of Twin City, Carolyn Corbitt (Jake) of Swainsboro, Mary Crowley (Otis) of Swainsboro, Helen Stone (Michael) of Arkansas; brothers, Carlton Copeland (Ann) of Kite, Bobby Copeland (Judy) of Lenoir City, TN; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Allen Meeks and Pastor Dean Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Copeland Jr., Kevin Fullmore, Jr., T.J. Oglesby, J.T. Copeland, Larry Wilkerson, and Jake Corbitt.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.
