Ms. Joellyn D. Green, 92, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Ms. Green was born November 9, 1928 in Kite to the late George Lee Davis and Mary Lelia Hoover Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bullard Greenway and David Green; brothers, Melvin Davis and Arnold Davis; son-in-law, Alton Claxton. Ms. Green moved to Swainsboro at the age of 7. She graduated from Swainsboro High School. Ms. Green worked in the fabric and shoe departments at B. C. Moore’s for over 25 years. She loved to go dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. Ms. Green also enjoyed fishing and listening to blue grass and country music.
Survivors include her son, Ronny Greenway of Kite; daughters, Gloria Claxton of Kite, Stefanie Tomlin (Grant) of Cedar Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Dru (Steve) Peebles, Ron (Karen) Claxton Janet (Mikel) Smith, Karen Greenway, Kyler Tomlin, Sydney Tomlin; great-grandchildren, Dustin Peebles, Chris (Colleen) Peebles, Emma Kate Peebles, Anna Claxton, Amanda Claxton, Cameron Claxton, Katie Smith, Ryan Smith; future great-great-grandson, Andrew Monroe Peebles; special niece, Bonnie (Phil) Wilcoxson; several other nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside service will be Friday, November 13,2020 11 a.m. at Minton Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Leavitt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the graveside.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Minton Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 1036 Minton Chapel Road, Kite, GA 31049.
