Mrs. Joyce Lynell Wilkerson, 71, of Swainsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Swainsboro on January 15, 1944 to the late Jordan Wilkerson and Azzie Lee Moxley Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilkerson; son, David McKenzie; brothers, Jake Wilkerson, Homer Wilkerson; sisters, Lorena Hall, Annie Ruth Waters, Gladys Hall and Louise Bartee. Mrs. Wilkerson was a lifelong resident of Swainsboro. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Wilkerson was employed with Stitch-n-Print in Twin City and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Midville.
Survivors include her sons, Roger (Gayle) McKenzie, Sr. of Swainsboro and Chris (Denise) Wilkerson of Swainsboro; sister, Ruby Hall of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Lil’ Roger (Misty) McKenzie, Brad (Jessica) McKenzie, Laura Wilkerson and Wesley Wilkerson all of Swainsboro; great grandchildren, Macy McKenzie, Mason McKenzie, Riley McKenzie, Reagan McKenzie, Raycen McKenzie and Ryan McKenzie all of Swainsboro; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, August 27, 2015 with Reverends Daryl Weaver, Brad McKenzie, and Jessie Bowen officiating.
Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, August 26, 2015 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hall, Jerry Hall, Tommy Waters, Tim Wilkerson, Henry Wilkerson, Dennis Hopkins.
Honorary Pallbearers are Timmy Thompson, Ronnie Hilliard, Jason Atkinson, Rodney Sellers.
