Ms. Lorene Johnson Waters, 78, of Metter passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Azalea Health and Rehab in Metter following an extended illness.
Ms. Waters was born February 10, 1942 in Swainsboro to the late Ben Johnson and Mary Bateman Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William C. “Dallas” Waters; sister, Glenda Johnson; daughters, Lori Lanier, Peggy Collins; great-grandchildren, Jameson Fulmer, Rayden Von Collins, Timothy Blake Lee; great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Jade Fulmer. Ms. Waters loved fishing, music, sewing, canning, cooking, and tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Wayne (Kathy) Waters of Garfield; daughters, Patricia Waters of Twin City, Brenda Bradley of Metter; sisters, Carolyn McGee of Ellabell; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Roy Jerriel officiating.
Interment will follow at Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday, January 18, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Myers, Jody Gay, Steven Gay, Michael Collins, David Dimmock, and Dylan Fulmer.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
