Mr. Loyd “Spanker” Giles, Jr., 81, of Kite passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Serenity Place following an extended illness.
Mr. Giles was born October 8, 1937 in Swainsboro to the late Aaron L. Giles and Ethel Peebles Giles. He was preceded in death by his parents; twins, Joseph and Jefferey Giles; sisters, Gladys Giles Armstrong, Lucille Bush, Rosa Lee Peebles, and Ruby Henry; brothers, Rudolph Giles, Floyd "Bud" Giles, Aaron "Pugg" Giles and Son Giles. Mr. Giles was a very strong man, a retired truck driver, loved his chihuahua, Skeeter and especially loved his family. He enjoyed reading his Bible, gardening, and fishing. Mr. Giles attended Norristown Revival Center.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Giles of Kite; sons, Jonathan Giles (Kimberly) of Adrian and Jason Giles (Angie) of Twin City; daughters, Diane Scott (Al) of Kite and Glynis DeLoach (Danny) of Childersburg, AL.; sisters, Ethelyn Brady Williams and Cuba Rea Giles Powell both of Kite; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, June 23, 2019 3p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Pearce officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Grandsons.
