Mr. Marcy James “Speedy” Giles, 57, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Giles was born January 13, 1961 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Floyd Bud Giles and Margaret Brantley Arnsdorff. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Giles; step-father, Alfred Arnsdorff. Mr. Giles was a welder. He enjoyed grilling, gardening, spending time with family, and helping others. Mr. Giles loved his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Lynn Giles of Swainsboro; son, Travis Giles of Sylvania; step-sons, Justin Chancey and Steven Chancey both of Swainsboro; daughters, Terri Giles and Rainee Meadows both of Swainsboro; brothers, Russell Giles (Tammy) of Jay, OK., Gerald Giles (Angie) of Swainsboro, and Harris Giles (Debra) of Stillmore; sisters, Judy Beckworth, Carolyn Braswell (Phillip), Martha Way (Gibson), Barbara Faye Skipper (Donnie), and Ethel Jones all of Swainsboro; 4 grandchildren; best friends, Tommy Givens, Gene Hall, and the late Eddie Edenfield; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial service will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018 with Rev. Morris Brantley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Chapman funeral Home.
