Margaret A. Jones

Ms. Margaret A. Jones, 67, of Stillmore passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Candler County Hospital following an extended illness.

Ms. Jones was born April 29, 1953 in Emanuel County to the J. W. Youmans and Inez Hadden Youmans. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Bobby R. Jones; son, Roy Lee Jones; brother, Roy Lee Youmans; sister, Madie Youmans; grandson, Willie Jones. Mama (Granny) was the strongest willed, loving, and patient women we’ve all ever known. If any of us kids of grandkids had problems or just needed someone to talk to, she definitely was the one to go to. She would never tell you what to do she would just say “I can’t tell you what to do, but you do what you think is best!” and never once judged your decision. She was the “Glue” in our family, always thought about everyone but herself. Her home was home away from home. Her recliner was not big enough to fit all us grandkids at one time, but her heart was. Every time you go to Granny’s you get a warm hug and if you sit close enough, you will get you a good back scratch. When you walked into her home all you see are memories all over the walls! Mama (Granny) will be missed beyond measures and could never be replaced. She was our Angel here on Earth, and she will be our Guardian Angel in Heaven.

Survivors include her father, J. W. Youmans of Stillmore; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Burke of Garfield and Shirley (Kevin) Scarboro of Stillmore; son, Jim Bo Akridge (Renee Boilott) of Twin City; step-sons, Ray Jones of Stillmore and Bobby Floyd Jones of Stilson, GA; step-daughter, Vicki Jones of Lyons; brothers, James (Susan) Youmans of Stillmore, Randy (Karen) Youmans of Swainsboro, Kenny (Sarah) Youmans of Metter; sisters, Linda (Lester) Kingery of Stillmore and Nancy (Donnie) Slater of Stillmore; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Harrell and Rusty Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sim Warren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Chad Kingery, Kyle Jones, Harris Youmans, Kade Youmans, Jamie Edenfield, and Blake Edenfield.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tiwain Daughtry and Malcolm Barnes.

In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
