Martha Mayes Obituary
Ms. Martha Stephanie Mayes, 71, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness.
Ms. Mayes was born January 6, 1949 in Camilla, GA. to the late Stephen Hill Mayes, Jr. and Martha Elizabeth Green. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Mayes worked as a counselor at Ogeechee Behavioral Health for many years. She loved animals. Ms. Mayes was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her aunt, Rachel Green Hayes (Jack) of Valdosta; God Child, Jaquan Jones of Pooler; special friends, Inell Jackson, Elbert “Buddy” Chambers, Jerry Sherrod, and Debra Bell, all of Swainsboro.
Memorial service will be private.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
