Martha Lee (Giles) Way

Mrs. Martha Lee Way, 72, of Swainsboro passed away, Thursday May 25, 2023, at Emanuel County Nursing Home in Swainsboro following an extended illness. 

Mrs. Way was born June 22, 1950, in Swainsboro to the late Floyd Giles and Margaret L. Brantley Arnsdorff.   She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Giles, Speedy Giles; stepfather, Alfred Arnsdorff.  Mrs. Way was a member of Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church. Mrs. Way enjoyed singing gospel music in the church. She always had a car full of children to bring to church and was faithful to work in the nursery. She loved crafting and watching her grandchildren play in the yard for hours. One of the most joyous things she got out of life was helping others. 

She is survived by her husband, Gibson Way of Swainsboro; sons, Tommy E. Way (Robin) and Giles Way (Kassie), both of Swainsboro; brothers, Russell Giles (Tammy) of Oklahoma, Gerald Giles (Angie) and Harris Giles (Debra), both of Swainsboro; sisters, Judy Beckworth, Faye Skipper (Donny). Carolyn Braswell (Phillip) and Ethel Jones (Kenny Wayne), all of Swainsboro; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church with Reverend Morris Brantley officiating.

Interment will follow in Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Pallbearers are Dustin Brantley, Scotty Way, Roy Morris, Ray Allen, Curtis Wheeler, Chris Way, Steven Way, Brad Kirby, and Jeff Durden.
