Mr. Tommie Worthen, son of the late Mr. Jim and Mrs. Laura Worthen of Swainsboro, Georgia departed this life on March 29, 2021 from Riverview Nursing Home in Savannah, Georgia after an extended illness.
Tommie was born November 17, 1947 in Emanuel County. He worked as a Truck Driver and a mechanic for various companies. He left Swainsboro, Ga at an early age and moved to Savannah, Ga.
Tommie was preceeded in death by 4 sisters; Mrs. Helen “Toby” Bell, Mrs. Annie Lois Wright, Ms. Ella Worthen, Mrs. Alma “Dolly” Worthen Parker, 6 brothers; Mr. Troy Worthen, Mr. Albert Worthen, Mr. Jimmy Dell Worthen, Mr. Leroy Worthen, Mr. William “Nankie” Worthen, Mr. George Worthen.
He leaves a legacy of loving memories 3 brothers, Mr. Maruin Worthen, Mr. Terry Worthen, Mr. Dannie Worthen of Swainsboro, 2 half-brothers; Mr. Jimmy Seabough (Ethel Lou), Mr. Dennis Mason (Frieda); 1 step-brother, Mr. Paul Weaver; 3 sister-in-laws, Mrs. Juanita Worthen, Mrs. Ella W. Worthen, Mrs. Jacqueline L. Worthen from Swainsboro; 1 half-sister, Charlene Freeman from Atlanta, Ga.
He also leaves a legacy of loving memories with his children’s mother Jamie Marciano. They have 2 Daughters Natasha Marciano Whitfield (Kenneth) and Stephanie Worthen Jackson (Michael). And 2 sons, Thomas Worthen, Shawn Worthen (Christina) of Savannah, Ga. He also has 7 grand-daughters; Julica Wilkerson (Taris), Camilla Jackson, Sha’Kayla Worthen, Sha’Keyra Worthen, Zamiah Worthen, LeAnne Worthen, Ciara Worthen. 3 grandsons: Damien Wickerson (Monica), Lorenzo Worthen, Za’Kee Whitfield, 2 great-grand-daughters Ta’Liyah Johnson, Venus Wickerson and 1 great-grandson Jamier Hendrix from Savannah, Ga., 1 great-grand-daughter Raine Wickerson of Bainbridge, Ga., 1 step-grand-daughter and 4 step-grand-sons from Savannah, Ga. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends from Swainsboro, Ga and Savannah, Ga.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his Nephews.
In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6 feet rule will be enforced during visitation and service.
