Mrs. Nedra Ann Hooks Mason, 82, of Beech Island, SC passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Mrs. Ann was born and raised in Lexsy. She grew up with her parents, Roy Hooks and Nettie Smith Hooks, along with siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lynelle Houston, Sara Mintz, Katherine Byers, Jean Allen; brother, Milton Hooks. In 1960 she married the love of her life, Jack Mason. They made their home in Augusta and had one son, Stuart Mason. They later built a home on the Savannah River and became residents of Beech Island, SC where they owned and operated Mason’s Tree & Turf Farms as well as Mrs. Ann working full time as a dental hygienist. She later devoted herself full time to the family business and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Ann loved attending Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta where she made numerous lifelong friends. She also enjoyed attending The Happy 39ers Club at church.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Mason of Beech Island, SC; son, Stuart Lynn Mason (Kelly) of Beech Island, SC; sister, Patsy Hooks Kersey of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Jack Windsor and Morgan Mason of Beech Island, SC; longtime loyal friend and employee, Thomas Ingram (Speedy); several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Sterling officiating.
Interment will be at Swainsboro City Cemetery in Swainsboro.
The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Thomas Ingram, Bobby Mason, Chuck Mason, Ken Hooks, Ryan Kersey, and Brian Harris.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Curtis Baptist Church 1348 Broad Street Augusta, GA 30901.
