Nicky Lester Perkins

Mr. Nicky Lester Perkins, 68, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, September 26th, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, following a brief illness.

Nicky was born in Swainsboro, Ga August 24th, 1955. He was the youngest of two sons of the late Johnny Perkins Sr and Violet Perkins, both natives of Swainsboro, Ga.  Nicky was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ava Grace Perkins; brother, Johnny Perkins, Jr.   He was a 1973 Swainsboro High school graduate. He was also a Swainsboro Technical College graduate. He had a 30 year plus career in the Timber industry, including management positions at Rayonier and Collum Lumber. He then went on to start his own successful business as Owner/Operator of East Georgia Forest Products for many years until retirement. His family and his faith were the two most important things in his life. His granddaughters were his greatest love during his time here with us.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vicki Perkins of Swainsboro; son, Nicholas Perkins (Keila) of Swainsboro; daughter, Audrey Perkins of Swainsboro; granddaughters, Sarah Jo Perkins, Madison Perkins, Bailey Duckworth; sister-in-law, Gloria Perkins of Watkinsville.

Graveside Service will be11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend John Strickland and Reverend Jim Harrell officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 29, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Perkins, Matthew Perkins, Hunter Smith, Holden Vause, Barry Thompson, and Jarrett Thompson.
