Mr. Paul Edward Williams, 75, of Kite, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Twin View Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born February 24, 1948, in Kite to the late Rufus Williams and Esther Claxton Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vera Williams; brother, Arthur Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of Kite Church of God. Paul was a sweet and loving man. He loved to work on cars, trucks and anything he could repair. He would come home from work, eat, and fix vehicles until dark. When he wasn’t working, he was fishing and hunting. Paul was always in church on Sundays. He was a family man. He always made sure his family had everything they needed, but not always what they wanted.
His grandchildren were his heart. He didn’t like to travel out of town, but the birth of his granddaughter took him to Statesboro, surprising his family. Mr. Paul was a caring man. If he saw someone on the side of the road, he never hesitated to stop and help them.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruth Williams of Kite; daughter, Holly Bennett of Kite; grandchildren, Christina Williams of Athens, Edward Bennett of Kite; sister, Lizzie Mae (Roy) Hawkins of Kite; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
