Mr. Rex Johnson, 52, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro Ga due to a brief illness.
Mr. Johnson was born June 25, 1969, in Garfield to the late B.L. Johnson and Mary Ellen Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Johnson was an overall hard-working man. He was a welder by trade for 25 years. He was also an avid attendee of New Beginnings Worship Center. He loved his family and enjoyed history, hunting, fishing, and reading books. He loved going to Walmart and socializing with friends. Mr. Johnson also had a special kitty kitty, Marlo, that he considered his son.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Johnson; stepdaughters, Jade Scarboro of Stillmore, Kacie Hanks of Statesboro, Elizabeth Allen of Millen; brothers, Sheldon Johnson of Garfield, Jody Johnson; special niece and nephew, Lily Elaine Dunn, Landon Cass Lindsey; several other nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Graveside Services will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tim Price officiating.
Interment will follow in Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian McQuay, Tim Baker, Mark Dailey, Hershel Hart, Michael Meeks, and Anthony Carlyle.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.
