Mr. Robbie L. Mosley (Squash), 59, of Dacula, GA, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Squash was born November 11, 1964, in Swainsboro, GA, to Joe Denson and Annie P. Mosley Drummer. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, O’Neal Drummer.
Squash gave his life to Christ at an early age. He graduated high school in Syracuse, NY and later joined the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge after three years of dedicated service. For several years, he was employed by Rayonier in Nunez, Georgia, before deciding to follow his passion of driving trucks. He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Norcross, GA, where he met his loving wife, Michele, during an outreach missionary meeting. He was a devoted fan of the GA Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Braves, whereby, often considered himself an unpaid coach. One of his secrets was that he had strong vocals and could really sing. He was raised by his great grandmother, Willie Ann Densor of Norristown, GA, and then later lived with his grandmother, Dorothy Turner of Swainsboro, GA.
Squash is survived by his wife, Michele Mosley of Dacula; sisters, Betty A. Jackson of Adrian, Denise Drummer of Soperton, Charlene Drummer of Swainsboro; nieces & nephews, Brittany Jackson, Denisha Drummer, Jamesha Webb, Donald Barber, Aquanda Barber; great nieces & nephews, Jade Butler, Khi White, Lauren Barber, Layla Barber;, Logan Barber; special cousin who he loved like a sister, Evelyn Bostic (Bryan & Crystal); aunt, Margaret Williams; uncles, Earl Turner (Christine), Wendell Turner (Melvinia), Colen Turner (Louise); mother-in-law, Theresa Greene; sister-in-law, Kimberly Greene; a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Greater St. James Baptist Church, 423 Hopkins Street, Swainsboro, GA with Reverend Paul Hollman officiating.
Interment will follow in Adrian Memorial Cemetery. (Military Service Observed)
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Chapman Funeral Home
Pallbearers will be Anthony Mitchell, Derick Turner, Colon Turner, Jr., Donald Barber, and Ja’Corey Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Carroll Bostic and Bennie Owens, Jr.
