Mr. Ronnie Edwin Hopkins, 65, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hopkins was born November 23, 1955, in Adrian to the late Elmo Hopkins and Atela “Tillie” Sweat Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Hopkins had retired from Emanuel County Board of Education after 15 years. He worked with Department of Corrections for 9 years. Mr. Hopkins enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, cooking for other people, woodworking and fishing. He was a member of Nunez Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Carmen Allen Hopkins of Swainsboro; son Chris (Marilynn) Hopkins of Lyons; daughter, Beth (Tadd) Wiggins of Stillmore; brothers, Kelvin Hopkins of Swainsboro, Donnie (Maria) Hopkins of Sebring, FL; grandchildren, Jaxson Wiggins, Banks Hopkins, Lawton Wiggins, Luke Hopkins; several nieces, nephews, including Ronnie Bob’s Margaret Anne Garrett Allmond, and many friends.
Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum with Reverends Jim Harrell, Louis Pierce and Mark Sweat officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
