Mr. Rufus Terry Edenfield, 54, of Soperton passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Emory in Atlanta following an extended illness.
Mr. Edenfield was born September 6, 1966, in Swainsboro to the late Rufus Edenfield and Artie Nell Wilson Edenfield. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Edenfield was a member of Adrian Baptist Church. Terry was a simple man who loved his family and friends, especially his grandbabies. Mr. Edenfield was born on September 6, 1966, in Swainsboro, GA. He grew up in Norristown where he followed in his father’s footsteps with farming until he found his love for trucking. Terry was a man of joy, laughter, and many pranks. Mr. Edenfield was a car enthusiast which led to him owning multiple vintage cars and trucks. He would buy, sell and trade until he found the perfect ride “The Rat Rod” or as his grandchildren called it “Papa’s Hot Rod.” He enjoyed entering it in car shows and driving it in parades. Terry’s favorite holiday was Christmas. He enjoyed exchanging gag gifts with his nieces, Hannah and Marley Never knowing what to expect from their Uncle Terry. His family always enjoyed Christmas gathering at his house. He was also a active member of the Soperton-Treutlen Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Edenfield of Soperton; sons, William Justin Edenfield (Kristen), Justin Wyatt McNure, both of Soperton; daughters, Amanda Leigh Skipper (Cory) of Pooler, Brandi Michelle Salter (Ashley) of Soperton; brother, Buster Edenfield of Soperton; sisters, Sandra Proctor (Jimmy), Candi Screws (Ricky), both of Swainsboro, Patsy Hall of Norristown, Monty Meeks (Mitchell) of Soperton; grandchildren, Gracie Edenfield, Maycie Edenfield, Paisley McNure, Logan Salter; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor David Oliver officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jasper Daniels, Andy Love, Randy Love, Ken Pollett, Glenn Tanner, Chris Dickens, and Big Terry Edenfield.
Honorary pallbearers are nephews: Tyler Love, Wayne Edenfield, Waylon Edenfield, Chris Hall, Mitch Proctor and Matt Proctor.
