Mrs. Verna May, 82, of Wrightsville, passed away Friday, October 20th, at Greenwood Place, following an extended illness.
Mrs. May was born August 27, 1941 in Dublin to Vernon Lumley and Marie Logue Lumley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy May; brothers, Doug Lumley, Wayne Lumley; sisters, Darra Judd, Linda Lumley. She loved her family, but she loved her grandkids the most. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and soap operas. Mrs. May loved decorating for Christmas. She enjoyed reading her bible and tagging herself in everyone’s Facebook posts. She was a member of the CB club and her handle was “Sweetpea”. Mrs. May was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Terry (David) Richards of Wrightsville; granddaughters, Jamie Boatright of Swainsboro, Katy (Shannon) Hood of Wrightsville; great grandchildren, Kylie( (Jason) Floyd, Lexi Cutler, Lauran Bedgood, Olivia Boatright, Madison Hood, Peyton Hood; great-great grandchildren, Landrey Cutler, Emree Kate Floyd, Grayson Floyd, Taylor Floyd; very special niece and family, Kimberly Avilez Ibarra (Max), Blake Judd, Erica Avilez, Heaven Ibarra, Mindy Hogan, Layla Judd, Alyssa Judd, and Kayden Spires; several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 P.M., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her family cemetery with Pastor L.T. Logue officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Richards, Adam Boatright, Shannon Hood, Max Ibarra.
