Chapman Funeral Home announces the death of William Larsen Phillips, age 92, at Emanuel County Nursing home on October 25, 2021, after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 27 at Eastbrook Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. with Elder Kenneth Brantley officiating.
Mr. Phillips was born in Treutlen County on January 8, 1929, to the late Clyde E. and Mary Phillips. He enlisted in the Army in 1946 and served during the military occupation of Japan at the end of WWII as a sergeant. Following his military service, he worked with the Department of Transportation and retired after 35 years as Project Engineer. After retirement, he served on the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners and owned a parking lot striping business.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Betty. He was a member of Calvary Methodist Church.
Survivors:
Daughters: Toni Terwilliger (Courtney) of Swainsboro, Georgia, and Robin Stevens (Danny) of Watkinsville, Georgia.
Grandchildren: Ivy Bolden (David,) Courtney Lane Terwilliger, III, Tori Greene (Wilmot), and Jordan Marietta (Morgan).
Great-grandchildren: Mason and Mia Marietta.
Nieces, nephews, and extended family.
