Mrs. Betty Jane White, 71, of Millen passed away Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. White was born March 23, 1946 in Lafayette, Ga. to the late George Thomas Lee and Mattie Sweet Lee. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Henry H. McKenzie, Grady Thompson, and Edwin White; brothers, Edward Lee, Clyde Lee, Charlie Lee, Bill Lee, and Danny Lee; sisters, Virgie Dover and Rosie McNeese. Mrs. White moved to Swainsboro at age 18 and lived there most of her life before moving to Millen about five years ago. She liked cooking, fishing, collecting angels, and working in the yard. Mrs. White loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her son, Glen McKenzie (Wanda) of Swainsboro; daughters, Angelia Wren (Jeff) of Swainsboro, and Tammie Dayle Conley (Bobby) of Kite; brothers, James Lee (Billie), John Henry Lee (Carol), BoBo Lee all of Lafayette, and Pete Lee (Ava) of Rock Springs; grandchildren, Sarah Grimes, Chris Henry, Nikki Hackle (Bill), B.J. Conley, Julia Conley, and Harley Wren; 7 great-grandchildren; chihuahua dog, Happy; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 with Reverends Arthur Conley and Franklin Sasser officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Chris Henry, Jordan Radford, Tim Harrell, Brandon Polan, Bill Hackle, Daniel Lane, and Ray McKenzie.
