Mr. James “Jimmy” H. Anderson, III, 48, of Garfield died Saturday night, August 11, 2012 at the Georgia Health Sciences Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Anderson was born in Brunswick and lived in Garfield for the past 10 years. Before his illness, Mr. Anderson worked with the Emanuel County Sheriff Department as a jailor. He loved being with his family and enjoyed reading science fiction books. Mr. Anderson was a member of Mt Olivet Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father James H. Anderson, Jr. and brother, Eddie Dean Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Shannon Johnson Anderson of Garfield; mother, Bertie Barrs Anderson of Statesboro; sons, James H. Anderson, IV, Aaron J. Anderson, Logan S. Anderson and Benjamin R. Anderson all of Garfield; daughters, Cheyanne Anderson, Samantha L. Anderson and Olivia G. Anderson all of Garfield; brother, Tony “Dawn” Anderson of Sardis; sister, Debbie A. “Tracy” Parrish of Statesboro; and 3 nieces.
Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at 11 o’clock Wednesday, August 15, 2012 with Rev. Randy Adams officiating. Mr. Anderson will Lie in State one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Drake, Jamie Drake, Marty Mercer, Clayton Anderson, Bobby Bazemore, Keith Barrs, Mike Lovett and Tracy Parrish.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Anderson, Waynard Johnson
